About Nate Russell

Teaches methodologies, mindsets, and mechanics that lead to success; healthy, repeatable and powerful.

Coach Nate comes from San Diego, California and has been coaching baseball since 2012, becoming a full time coach after Graduating from Eastern Nazarene College in 2014 where he played NCAA DIII baseball and graduated with a degree in Sports Management. In 2018 he earned his Masters in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. 

From 2012-2020 Nate worked with athletes in San Diego, sending numerous players on to play across all levels of NCAA as well as a handful of professional prospects.

In 2020, Nate became the Hitting and Pitching Coordinator for Moyer Baseball Academy in Seattle, WA , founded by 26 year MLB veteran, Jamie Moyer and worked alongside his son Hutton Moyer (Angels). Returning home in 2023, Nate currently coaches all levels (9u-14u) for the California Lookouts Baseball Organization and operates Russell Baseball working with Youth, HS, College and Professional athletes.

In 2025 Nate accepted the Hitting Coach position at Westview High School where the team immediately saw a turnaround offensively in the first year.

Nate is big in understanding the Kinematic Sequencing of the body because it’s the foundation for most rotational activities including hitting, throwing, tennis, golf, striking, etc. Moving the body logically to produce a desired result is what we aim for. To teach this he uses traditional coaching methods, but also uses data analytics to make sure we are staying on track.
